Coronavirus: Safety and Readiness Tips for You

Dear Ladue Chapel Family:

As global and national conversations continue around the growing number of coronavirus victims, we want to assure you that we at Ladue Chapel are prepared – but we are not panicking.

This link is an excellent resource from Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, offering guidelines and suggestions for individual congregations. This past Sunday we began adjusting to this new reality – by changing our communion practices, and re-imagining the Passing of the Peace ( a smile, a nod, or a bow is just as welcoming as a handshake!). For all future Communion Sundays we will alter our serving practices for the 8:15 Sacrament of Holy Communion. The pastors will serve the bread individually to those coming forward (using gloves). We believe that we can be safe – and still gather in loving and celebratory Christian community.

If and when the coronavirus affects our immediate communities, please know that we will do everything we can to make worship and church life safe and healthy. Please remember that our worship services are now being live streamed on Facebook each Sunday at 10:30 am.

The Rev. J. Herbert Nelson, Stated Clerk of the PCUSA offers this prayer to all of us and all those affected by the coronavirus.

If you have not already, please read the Missouri Department of Health’s Covid-19 Fact Sheet. This Fact Sheet provides relevant information necessary to understand Covid-19, how it is transmitted, and what we can do to take preventative measures:

Blessings to all – Susan Andrews
