Blue symbolizes hope. While the Christmas season is full of celebrations, it can also be filled with mixed emotions. Join us for silent and spoken prayers, music and reflection, as we worship together in hope through light. Everyone is welcome!

Contemplative Worship

Wednesday, December 18

6:15-7:00 p.m. – Fireside Room

Contemplative worship in the Taizé style is deeply personal and songful, using candlelight, prayerful silences, and repetitive singing to establish a mood of communion and joy. The service is less like a feast and more like savoring a glass of fine wine or a great cup of coffee. It opens your spirit to God’s Spirit in a unique way.

Embrace the call of contemplation and transformation as we meditate on God’s Word through the ancient practice of spiritual reading, lectio divina.

Christmas Eve Worship

Tuesday, December 24

4:30 p.m. Family Service

The children’s choirs lead an informal, interactive service, ideal for children, families and the young at heart. Music by the Chorister and Carol Choirs and GenRev Ringers. Childcare provided for children through age 3.

7:00 p.m. Silent Night Service

Candlelight, Carols and Communion

A quiet, contemplative service to gently usher in Christmas. Music for oboe, cello and soloists Johanna Nordhorn and Dan Mayo.  This service will include singing Silent Night and other carols by candlelight from the front porch of the church, followed by hot chocolate and cookies.  Childcare provided for children through age 3.

9:40 p.m. A Nativity Concert

The concert features soloists, string quartet, and organ, featuring beautiful music from around the world.

10:00 p.m. O Holy Night

Festive Christmas Worship with Communion

Dieter Heinzl preaches, anthems by the Chancel Choir, O Holy Night sung by Karen Kanakis, with all singing Silent Night by candlelight.  No childcare provided.

Joy to the World: Lessons and Carols

10:00 a.m.

The Christmas story will be celebrated in scripture, poetry and congregational carols. Soloist will be Tara Campbell and Zachary Devin. Childcare provided for children through age 3. Childcare provided for children through age 3.
Good Shepherd and faith formation classes will not meet.
