Getting to Know You: Theo Wedemeyer
Getting to Know You: Theo Wedemeyer
Wesley Theodore “Theo” Wedemeyer could be the poster child for lifelong members at Ladue Chapel. Theo is a “cradle Presbyterian,” thanks to his parents, Susan and Denny Wedemeyer. He was baptized at Ladue Chapel and enjoyed singing in the Children's Choir. He later was confirmed and participated in many youth group activities, along with his twin sister, Claire, and their older sister, Ann. (Both sisters live in St. Louis.)
Theo appreciates the many quiet and not-so-quiet opportunities available to deepen one's faith at Ladue Chapel. “I'm very grateful to all of the people at church who helped shape my faith; I had so many great role models.”
Theo lived in Boston and Chicago for more than twenty years after graduating from Miami University of Ohio. He met his wife, Piper, at a Chicago pub she owned, the Bucktown Pub. Piper was a lifelong Chicagoan until Theo whisked her away to the Gateway City. Now, he and Piper enjoy the blessing of raising Marlowe, their nine-year-old daughter. Marlowe is continuing a Wedemeyer family tradition by singing in the Children's Choir and being an active part of Monday Music and More at church.
The young parents stay busy watching Marlowe play field hockey and soccer, and they enjoy seeing her dance. Theo and Piper also enjoy a competitive game of tennis with each other now and then.
The family likes regular quiet time together by turning off the television almost every evening and relaxing by reading.
Get to know Theo! He worships weekly with his mom from a front pew. You may also meet him as you enter church because he often serves as a greeter.
