Reverend Courtney Chandler
Director of Faith Formation and Family Ministry
I grew up in Lawrenceville, Georgia. At the age of thirteen, I announced to my family that I was going to be a minister when I grew up. It took a while, but eventually that calling became a reality.
I graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre and later graduated with a Master of Divinity from McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University. I was fortunate to spend a summer with the Iona Community in Scotland where I worked in the kitchen and learned to make bread and scones. In May of 2008 I was ordained by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Georgia. I have served congregations in Georgia, Illinois, and Missouri. I have served in a variety of roles from campus ministry to senior minister to serving on staff of the Missouri Mid-South Conference for the United Church of Christ.
I am step-mother to Collin and mother to Liam and Liliann. My family also includes a grumpy mutt, a silly corgi, and a very moody cat.
When I am not working or driving children to extracurricular activities, I enjoy exploring trails, planning parties and events for my family, and giving old furniture new life.
